While the holidays always seem to bring out the nostalgia in many people, we are also feeling a little nostalgic at United Materials these days. United Materials will turn 100 in 2023. We have been mentioning this upcoming anniversary/birthday for most of 2022, but, well, it’s almost here now. And we are feeling both reflective and hopeful.
Many Changes Since 1923
It seems surreal to think about how this company was started in 1923. The Roaring Twenties, a period of explosive economic, technological, and cultural development. Mass production was really taking off. Warren G. Harding was President of the United States until Calvin Coolidge took office in August, after the death of Harding. The first home game in the original Yankee Stadium was played between New York and Boston. Louis Armstrong recorded his first jazz record. The Hollywood sign made its debut in Los Angeles (after originally reading “Hollywoodland”). Walt and Roy Disney founded the Disney Company. And, of course, right here in Denver, United Materials was founded, originally beginning as a construction tool and equipment supplier, which eventually morphed into a thriving, highly respected commercial roofing company.
The Same Core Values
Since our founding in 1923, United Materials has prided itself on a steadfast commitment to guarantee the highest quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. We have always strived to be fiscally responsible while maintaining our dedication to conservation. United Materials has always worked to improve our workmanship along with the ever-changing advancements in roofing construction and technology, and we continue to do so. We encourage our employees to further their education about our industry so that our company continues to deliver the highest level of quality craftsmanship to our customers. Our business practice standards are so high that we have been awarded the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics, the standards of which we endeavor to uphold and improve on a daily basis here at United Materials. United Materials values its employees as much as we value our customers.
Looking Into 2023 and Beyond
As we look to the new year and toward celebrating 100 years in business, we at United Materials are excited to meet new customers and new challenges with the same solid, reliable level of performance and customer service for which we have been known this past century. We are eager to celebrate our accomplishments and to embrace new opportunities. And we are grateful beyond measure to our loyal customers for their continued support and reliance on United Materials to provide their roofing needs.
